I'm Craig. LayerKick is one person.

I've been building software for twenty years. LayerKick is what happens when all of it points at one problem: Shopify storefronts are slower than they need to be, and every tool that promises to fix them adds more JavaScript to a problem made of JavaScript.

So LayerKick takes the other road. It compiles your existing theme ahead of time and serves it from Cloudflare's edge in the shopper's own city. Checkout stays Shopify's. If LayerKick ever misbehaves, traffic passes through untouched. The failure mode is your store, as it was.

I build it with an unusual toolchain: a factory of AI coding agents that I supervise like a shift foreman. The agents write most of the code. They physically cannot touch production, every line lands through the same gated pipeline, and the whole setup is documented in the journal, because the honest version of "AI built this" is more interesting than pretending otherwise.

The journal is where I write it all down as it ships: real dates, real numbers, and corrections published with the same font size as the claims.
